Exam Piece Ten

Image Ten

Before

After

Representation of relationships

The relationship in this image is the same as all of my other ones, that begin the relationship between nature and man, I believe this image shows that as the wall is a side of a building which is a man made thing, as all man made things it is made to benefit mankind only, but the plant growing out of the bricks tried anything to survive, it needed a place to live and grow and it decided to adapt in order to survive.

Formal Elements

There are multiple formal elements in this image ranging from line which is featured on the wall in the background and also on the plant itself on the leafs. There is also the use of texture which features on the wall and also on the plant. Another element would be colour, this is because of the bright use of colours in this image and especially after the photo shop process, this is because the green got brighter against the grey wall.

Compositional Elements

The compositional elements used in this image would be leading lines, though the line itself isn't smooth or straight I believe it creates a leading line of some sort which your eyes follow. The rule of thirds play some part in this image as the plant is to the left of the image which follows one of the lines. Another element would be depth of field, the depth in this image is a slightly shallow depth this is because the background of this image is not fully blurred out, it is still slightly in focus.

Photoshop Process

During the photoshop process I chose to play around with the levels of the image to make the colours more vibrant and stand out, I made the levels as you can see bellow.

Critique

I would go back and re-shoot this image, this is because I feel it could of gone a lot better than the results I'm left with, the use of elements both compositional and formal, I feel with more elements which are stronger the image would over all be a betting and stronger image to use.
